We built MerchantIQ because we kept watching good stores lose good shoppers to silence.

Every founder I spoke to in India's D2C space had the same problem wearing different clothes. The traffic was there: Meta ads, Google, influencer posts, all of it driving real intent to their stores. But the store itself was passive. A catalogue. No one to answer questions, no intelligence about the person browsing, no conversation. The shopper would sit on a saree PDP for two minutes, not find the answer they were looking for, and leave. The merchant would look at their analytics, see another abandoned session, and shrug. They assumed it was the price. Or the category. It was not. It was the silence.

What we built is the answer to that silence. MerchantIQ is the AI shopping layer that runs on top of your Shopify store, not as a bolted-on chatbot but as a full shopping mode. An assistant that knows your catalogue, knows the shopper, and can have the conversation that turns a browse into a purchase. We started with a live D2C store, because sarees are exactly the product category where questions matter most. Fabric, drape, occasion, colour matching: a shopper needs to talk through these things. Now the store can talk back. The cross-store memory came later, and it changed the picture entirely. When we saw how much richer the AI's responses got the moment it had shopper history to work with, we knew the network was the real product.

Where this goes is straightforward. Every Indian D2C brand running paid traffic into a static Shopify store is leaving money on the floor. We are building the infrastructure to fix that, starting in India, and then taking the same network effect to Shopify merchants globally. The AI gets better as more merchants join. The shopper memory gets richer. The conversion data gets more specific. This is a platform that compounds, and we are early enough that the merchants who join now are building the foundation the whole network stands on.
