Product detail page (PDP)

A product detail page (PDP) is the page dedicated to a single product — its images, description, price, and options, and usually where the buying decision is made.

What it means

The PDP is the highest-intent page on a store: it’s where a shopper evaluates one specific product and decides whether to buy. Paid traffic from Meta, Google, and influencers often lands here directly, which makes the PDP the page where advertising budgets are won or lost.

Where PDPs leak

A static PDP presents information but can’t answer a question. When a shopper needs to know whether a size runs small, whether an ingredient will react, or whether a dock fits their laptop, the page stays silent, and the shopper leaves. Making the PDP interactive keeps that intent from bouncing.

For example

A shopper spends two minutes on a saree PDP, can’t confirm it suits a winter wedding, and leaves — recorded only as an abandoned session.

In MerchantIQ

Copilot brings an always-on assistant to the PDP, so the question that would have ended the visit becomes a purchase instead.
